What is a gantry crane?
A gantry crane acts as an umbrella term for most overhead cranes, however, when most use the term, they’re referring to a freestanding crane that doesn’t need to be attached to an existing structure. These cranes are made up of a stand/legs and a transverse beam that extends across the supports.
